Amorphi Project
Note: Im so sorry about the broken text on the web export, its really annoying and we will fix it after jam. In the mean time, all the controls they explain are in the controls segment below, your only missing out on a tiny bit of lore and flavour text otherwise!
🟪SITE NEWS: The Amorphi Project has successfully created entities capable of changing their physical size at will! They will be contained and their anomalous cell structures studied. Specimens I and - (Minus) have been placed in a secure location under the facility to study how these beings interact.🟨
The Amorphi Project is a game where two entities escape a facility. Their unusual biology allows them to stretch horizontally or vertically respectively, allowing them to physically support each other throughout each room.
This game was made for the Wild And Proud Jam 2024, the theme was Support and we used the 'Show your Colours' wildcard. more about that below!
Features:
- Local multiplayer using a shared keyboard, or one person can control both if your up to the challenge!
- Simple control scheme (4 keys for each specimen)
- Simple colour scheme (4 colours, inspired by the Non-Binary flag!)

Development Story
This game was made for the Wild And Proud Jam 2024 as mentioned before! This game jam was a Collab between Godot Wild Jam and Godot Engine for pride month. The theme was Support, so we came up with a few ideas including this one - where you would have to support each other to solve levels by stretching and being each others platform.
There were also wild cards, extra optional challenges to include in the game. One of these was to make the game's colour palette match a pride flag. The Non-Binary pride flag has a cool colour palette so we went with that one!
It wasn't all smooth sailing, however..
This was actually the second game idea we had. The first one was a dialogue based game where you would be a member of a DND like party, supporting your team through dialogue and quests in the days leading up to the fight. You would get an ending once the fight rolled along based on how well and who you decided to support. This idea fell through after several problems with the direction, workload and version control for it.
At this point, there was only 24 hours left, a third of the time we started with. But then, I had the idea of going back to the 'stretchy' platformer idea we decided against since we had all made so many of them. As it turns out, theres a good reason for that: Reusable code, experience and it being a more simple idea helped us catch up for all the lost time and put out the jam version that should be available to download!
Anyway, I think I've learned the lesson that 3 days is not enough to both make the system for and write a crap tonne of dialogue 💀
Bonus facts
- The boost you can do by jumping atop specimen I / the vertical character whilst its growing was originally unintentional! It was super buggy and flung you to space at 30ps and didnt work at 10fps so i manually removed and then added it back to make it stable and fun LMAO
